While we sit down to warm meals and full plates, families in Gaza face another day with nothing to eat. Children cry through the night with empty stomachs, and parents are left helpless. The comfort we often take for granted feels like a world away.

Ramadan is over for us—but for families in Gaza, the fasting never ends. Their hope fades with each passing day. They wake to hunger and fall asleep to fear, trapped in a daily struggle just to survive.

Gaza’s Suffering

Since October 7, 2023, Gaza has experienced unbearable devastation:

 More than 50,700 lives lost

 More than 111,500 injured

87% of homes damaged or destroyed

80% of businesses wiped out

68% of cropland devastated

Hunger Has Reached a Record-High in Gaza.

More Than 2.15 MILLION People Have NOTHING Left To Eat Anymore!

 Over 2.15 million Gazans, which is 96% of the total population, are experiencing “extremely critical” levels of food insecurity

 70% of the crop fields in Gaza are destroyed and livelihoods are decimated due to the bombing

 The proportion of households affected by extreme acute food insecurity in Gaza has been the largest ever recorded globally since 2023

 1 in 5 Gazans are currently starving with nothing left to eat

To keep themselves and their families alive, the people have turned to boiling leaves, consuming animal fodder, and scavenging for crumbs out of sheer desperation.

And that means, it is our duty – as Muslims and as humans – to step up for their aid.

Gaza Needs You Now

The people of Gaza are confronted with their most difficult challenge yet—facing hunger, thirst, and the overwhelming fear of not having enough to sustain themselves.

Parents in Gaza are helplessly watching their children cry from hunger, unable to offer even a piece of bread. Their homes are shattered, their kitchens empty, and their hearts heavy with the pain of not being able to provide. For them, every day is a battle to find food, clean water, and safety.

Their children cry not for toys or sweets, but for a single meal—and that cry is still going unanswered.

Right now, the lack of food and nutrition means:

 No physical or mental energy

 Persistent migraines and severe body aches from hunger

 Weakened immune systems, increasing vulnerability to life-threatening illnesses

 Severe malnutrition, and much more.

Rowad Association for Society Development, founded in 2009, is based in the Gaza Strip with a mission to develop Palestinian society, regardless of individual backgrounds. Our work spans various sectors, including sustainable development, poverty alleviation, and emergency relief efforts.
