Bilad As Sham NEEDS US: Make a Difference Today 🌟

Salaams All. I'll be joining the IQRA Mission team in the field to Bilaad As Sham in January 2025 to provide emergency humanitarian relief to displaced families in the country. Since the start of the conflict in 2011, over one million citizens have been forced to flee a protracted war. The country also faces complex challenges mingled with the joy and sadness of return.

Cash Zakat Assistance: 

Our team will be providing cash Zakat assistance to some of the many displaced families and families of freed prisoners who are living hand to mouth. This support enables families to buy what they need for themselves with dignity- rather than us giving what we think they need.

1. Food Aid 

Refugee households are food insecure or are vulnerable to food insecurity. Female-headed households, small households, and households with persons/members with disabilities continued to have disproportionately poor food consumption. Please help our brothers and sisters. Our teams are on the ground to provide life-saving food aid to thousands in need. We provide cash handouts and feeding programmes, especially, but not only, in Ramadan.

2. Shelter 

Our work is long term and we have housed many thousands in our camps these past difficult years. Now entire cities need rebuilding and housing must be found for hundreds of thousands displaced abroad and keen to be in their homeland. We rehabilitate and renovate damaged households. Good housing is essential in improving the health and safety of families and increasing economic development opportunities within the community.  

The families reported a substantial increase in quality of life, with improved living conditions and a feeling of increased safety.
