It’s a sad reality that 90% of the Muslim world doesn’t understand the Quran in Arabic.

Our prayers feel empty instead of moving our hearts.

We depend on the words of men to move us…

Because we are so disconnected from the words of our Creator.

But who can impart the message to us better than Him?

Anyone who’s tried to learn Quranic Arabic knows how difficult it is.

The only people who really succeed are the ones who can move to a Muslim country and immerse themselves in the language.

But most of us can’t do that.

I was one of those people. 

Frustrated that I’m doing something 5 times a day and not fully understanding what it is that I’m saying.

It’s scary when you read a verse like this:

The companions understood more while intoxicated than we do without being intoxicated!

Understanding is such a critical part of our faith.

But most of the Muslim world has diminished the importance of this task simply because of how hard it is.

Like many Muslims, I’ve been trying to learn Arabic for the last 10 years without much success.

Then one day I decided I was going to simplify this problem.

I found a solution.

That led to a 95% understanding of the Quran.

In just one year, by committing only 10 minutes a day.

This COMPLETELY changed my relationship with the Quran.

I could finally taste the sweetness of prayer.

I finally felt like the people that Allah describes here:

After two years of hard work, I developed the app to benefit the entire Muslim world.

Kalaam is the work of a small, dedicated team of five developers and a modest $200,000 budget.

I've invested two years and $80,000 of my own funds. 

All funds raised have gone into development. 

Yet, to reach global impact, we need your ongoing support.

The vision for Kalaam is ambitious: to help every Muslim on earth understand the words of Allah in the fastest, easiest, and most enjoyable manner. 

To actualize this goal, we have significant work ahead of us.

Our immediate priorities are two:

1) integrating social elements and gamification into the app.

2) creating an engaging experience for youth. 

We want to make it irresistible, encouraging kids to race for goodness as Allah encourages in the Qur'an.

Next in our mission: 

• We'll enhance grammar comprehension later this year, simplifying it uniquely to fully grasp Allah’s message.

• Translating the app into every major language, so that believers around the world can benefit.

Then our goal is to integrate Kalaam into every Islamic school worldwide!

Millions of children spend their entire young lives in Islamic schools, yet come out without understanding the Quran!

Shouldn’t that be the one job of an Islamic school?
